Salt air is harder on paint than people expect.
Being surrounded by the Fraser and the Strait means a constant fine salt deposit — invisible, mildly corrosive, and it sits in panel gaps and under trim. A rinse does not remove it; a proper decontamination wash does.
If you park near YVR or commute along Russ Baker Way, add jet exhaust film to that. It is oily and it grips — clay bar territory, not soap.
The upside: Richmond is the easiest city in the region to work in. Wide flat driveways in Steveston and Terra Nova, and generous surface lots at most condos, so we rarely need to negotiate for space.
